ESIGIE I

Son of Olu Ojoluwa I. The periods of these two Kings (Ojoluwa I and Esigie I) are, according to historian J.O.E. Sagay, uncertain but “their periods represented that of expansion and consolidation. By the time Ojoluwa came to the throne, the fusion between the royal immigrants and the already settled population had almost become completed.” They also had contact with the European Merchants that came to the land in their era. About 16th century
