Odion Independence Day Celebration: Celebrating Nigeria @ 66 Through Itsekiri Culture and Unity

October 1 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Celebrating Our Independence, Celebrating Our Culture!

Growing up around James Street, many remember this historic corridor as a vibrant heartbeat and center of Itsekiri cultural heritage—a place where our rich customs, traditions, history, music, dance, language, and communal pride have always been on full display. Those memories are enduring reminders of our roots and highlight the vital need to preserve this legacy for every generation that follows.

This Independence Day, the community gathers LIVE on James Street for the Odion Independence Day Celebration. The landmark festival unites sons, daughters, and friends of the Warri Kingdom to commemorate Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary while honoring the distinct beauty, resilience, and unity of the Itsekiri people.
