If you are Itsekiri\, this day belongs to you! \n📅 Event Details\n\nDate: Saturday\, 25th July 2026\nVenue: Deptford Park\, Scawen Road\, London\, SE8 5AE\nTime: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM\nAdmission: Open to all Itsekiri families and friends of the Kingdom.\n\n🌟 What to Expect\nOur goal is to transplant the vibrant spirit of Warri Kingdom into the heart of London. The day will be packed with activities designed to immerse you in our unique traditions: \n\nCultural Displays: Witness the majesty of our traditional dances and masquerades that have defined our people for centuries.\nThe Rhythm of Iwere: Experience live traditional drumming—the heartbeat of our land—featuring the various ancestral drums of our heritage.\nCulinary Delights: Savour the authentic tastes of home with various Itsekiri delicacies.\nFamily and Kids Zone: We are raising the next generation! There will be specific activities for children\, including Itsekiri language games\, storytelling\, and cultural workshops to ensure our tradition lives on in the diaspora.\nNetworking and Fellowship: Reconnect with old friends and meet new ones as we strengthen the bond of the Itsekiri community in the UK.\n\n👪 Why You Should Attend\nWhether you were born in Nigeria or the UK\, Itsekiri Day is your opportunity to wear your traditional regalia with pride\, speak the language\, and celebrate the grace and dignity of the Iwere people. \nWe encourage parents to bring their children dressed in traditional attire; let us show London the beauty of our gold and maroon heritage. \n📍 Location & Transport\nDeptford Park is a beautiful green space in South East London with easy access via: \n\nTrain/Overground: Deptford or Surrey Quays stations.\nBus: Multiple routes serving the SE8 area.\nParking: Limited street parking (Pay & Display) is available on Scawen Road and surrounding streets. For those requiring dedicated car parks\, paid parking can be found at Deptford Landmann Way or the Surrey Quays Shopping Centre (approx. 15-20 min walk).
