Ogiame Atuwatse III visits Benin River communities

On Tuesday December 20, 2022 His Imperial Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, the Olu of Warri paid a historic visits to five Itsekiri Communities in Warri South-West and Warri North LGAs of Delta State. The communities are Bateren in Warri South-West L.G.A, and Ogheye-Dimigun, Ogheye Eghoroke, Utonlila, and Oboghoro in Warri North L.G.A.

Bateren community was the first point of call of the First Class Warri Monarch. Bateren is a Royal Community owned by Princess Uwala, Prince Omateye, and Prince Ejoh. These were the children of Ogiame Akengbuwa, the 18th Olu of Warri Kingdom who reigned before the Warri Kingdom interregnum of 1848 when he joined his ancestors.

Following the visit to Bateren community, Ogiame Atuwatse and his entourage visited Ogheye Dimigun and Ogheye Eghoroke communities. The last port of call was the twin communities of Oboghoro and Utonlila community also in Warri North LGA. Several other communities such as Jakpa (the home of the Ologbotsere and Uwangue descendants), Ebokiti community, Ototo community, etc sent their representatives to welcome Ogiame Atuwatse III at Oboghoro community.

His Imperial Majesty, told the gathering at Oboghoro that the community has become the standard for other Itsekiri communities to emulate in terms of infrastructural development.
