The Okere community of Warri Kingdom proudly presents its 528th annual Awankere (Okiroro) Festival, also known as Okere Juju. This spectacular event, renowned for its unique traditions and exhilarating celebrations, draws dignitaries and enthusiasts from far and wide each year. Prepare to partake in the festivities with the following schedule of performances:
- Awere-were Sunday, 1st June, 2025
- Awankere First Performance, Tuesday, 10th June, 2025
- Awankere Second Performance, Wednesday, 18th June, 2025
- Awankere Third Performance, Thursday, 26th June, 2025
- Awankere Fourth Performance, Friday, 4th July, 2025
- Awankere Fifth (Last day) Performance, Saturday, 12th July, 2025
Kindly note a period of traditional observance within the Okere Community: from Monday, 26th May, 2025, to Saturday, 12th July, 2025, there will be no drumming of any kind. Join us as we celebrate this significant cultural heritage!
