The 9th edition of Ghigho Aghofen is set to take place on March 16th, 2024, amidst the regal splendor of the Palace of the Olu of Warri Kingdom, nestled in the historic Aghofen Warri. This revered event marks a significant transition as the Okere community, which has dutifully safeguarded the Palace watch since December 16th, will gracefully pass on the mantle to the Efurokpe community.

Located in the heart of Warri metropolis, Okere community’s stewardship has been marked by tradition, honor, and unwavering dedication. Now, the time has come for Efurokpe, an esteemed Itsekiri community in Ethiope East LGA of Delta State, to assume this venerable responsibility.

Following the solemn handover ceremony, guests will be treated to the warm hospitality and cultural richness of Efurokpe community as they embark on a three-month celebration at the Palace. This transition not only embodies the enduring spirit of unity and heritage but also symbolizes the seamless continuity of tradition within the vibrant tapestry of the Warri Kingdom.
