The Itsekiri Congress UK (ICUK), cordially invites you to a celebration of the Iwere people in the United Kingdom.

Itsekiri Day 2026 is more than just an event; it is a homecoming for all sons and daughters of Warri Kingdom residing in the UK. This year, we are opening our doors wide to every Itsekiri person, regardless of whether you are a member of our five constituent meetings or not. If you are Itsekiri, this day belongs to you!

Admission: Open to all Itsekiri families and friends of the Kingdom.

Our goal is to transplant the vibrant spirit of Warri Kingdom into the heart of London. The day will be packed with activities designed to immerse you in our unique traditions:

Cultural Displays: Witness the majesty of our traditional dances and masquerades that have defined our people for centuries.
The Rhythm of Iwere: Experience live traditional drumming—the heartbeat of our land—featuring the various ancestral drums of our heritage.
Culinary Delights: Savour the authentic tastes of home with various Itsekiri delicacies.
Family and Kids Zone: We are raising the next generation! There will be specific activities for children, including Itsekiri language games, storytelling, and cultural workshops to ensure our tradition lives on in the diaspora.
Networking and Fellowship: Reconnect with old friends and meet new ones as we strengthen the bond of the Itsekiri community in the UK.

📍 Location & Transport

Deptford Park is a beautiful green space in South East London with easy access via:

Train/Overground: Deptford or Surrey Quays stations.
Bus: Multiple routes serving the SE8 area.
Parking: Limited street parking (Pay & Display) is available on Scawen Road and surrounding streets. For those requiring dedicated car parks, paid parking can be found at Deptford Landmann Way or the Surrey Quays Shopping Centre (approx. 15-20 min walk). We strongly recommend using public transport where possible as spaces fill up quickly.
