Founded in 2003 by Dr Evelyn Omawumi Urhobo, Morgan Smart Development Foundation is a non-profit, non-Governmental Organization dedicated to the empowerment of rural and urban poor women and youths in Nigeria for poverty reduction, employment generation and sustainable socio-economic development.

Coastal and Marine Areas Development Initiative (CMADI) is a non-governmental organisation incorporated in December 2010 by Mr Henry Aboyowa Erikowa to help improve the livelihood of those living in the coastal communities in the Niger Delta.

Itsekiri NextGen is a brain child of Itsekiris in Yorkshire, United Kingdom. It is a non-profit organisation with the aim of improving outcomes for Itsekiri children through mentorship.

NGO in Warri

Mote Foundation is a non-profit organisation that provides awareness and support to young children and women against sexual assault. They previously focused their operations outside Warri Kingdom but would be commencing operations in Warri Kingdom soonest.  

They provide the following services;

  • Advocacy against sexual abuse
  • Training and Health Education for women and girls
  • Helpline for victims of rape and domestic abuse 

Founded by Tosan Nomayo, the Tosan Nomayo Foundation (TNF) is an unregistered Non-Governmental Organization, focused on community development. They operate from Ekurede Itsekiri community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.

They partner with Schools, Orphanage Homes, Religious Organizations, Hospitals, Clinics and well meaning individuals.

Societies in Warri Kingdom

Warri Progressive Society alias Otonloye is a non-governmental organisation that was midwifed in 1960 at Prince K. B. Omatseye’s house. It was registered in 1985 and the UK Branch was inaugurated in 1966.

Itsekiri Organisation

Ugbajo Itsekiri USA Inc. is dedicated to the promotion of Itsekiri unity, progress and strength, and to the protection and support of Itsekiri culture, custom and heritage in the United States and in Iwereland (Warri Kingdom).

The organization is headquartered in Washington, DC and consists of ten regional affiliates across the country.  

They provide the following services;

  • Scholarship to Itsekiri students in universities and polytechnics
  • Medical services to people in Itsekiri land
  • Clean Warri projects to Itsekiri communities
Itsekiri NGO

Itsekiri Association of Canada is a non-profit Itsekiri organisation located in Toronto, Ontario. Itsekiri Association of Canada is the umbrella organization of all provincial and territorial Itsekiri associations in Canada. Itsekiri Association Canada seeks to promote the Itsekiri culture and encourage networking among Itsekiris in Canada.

NGO in Warri

The Itsekiri Renaissance Group, IRG is a non-governmental organisation of like-minded Itsekiris dedicated to the development and advancement of the Itsekiri cause. 

They strive for the deliberate and strategic advancement of the Itsekiri nation.

Itsekiri Congress UK is the central body of Itsekiris in the UK. It is made up of five meetings namely;

UGBAJO ITSEKIRI-United Kingdom is non-profit socio-cultural organisation with a primary focus on promoting the language, culture and heritage of the Itsekiri people world wide.

This organisation has no boundaries and welcome all Itsekiri sons and daughters home and abroad.

Warri Ladies Vanguard is a not for profit organisation with the mandate to render quality service to the Itsekiri Nation home and abroad.

Warri National Union is a non-governmental organisation that was inaugurated to promote Itsekiri culture and values both in the UK and back home in Nigeria.

Itsekiri Association of Calgary (IAC) is a cultural association of Oma Iwere in Calgary, Canada. It is a non-profit  community organisation inaugurated for the promotion of the Itsekiri culture, values, language and heritage among Itsekiris in Calgary/Canada, and a forum for networking.
