In a significant gathering that brought together descendants of Chief Olomu Aseroko of the historic Ebrohimi Community, a general meeting was held on the 29th of December 2023 at the Ebrohimi Community Hall, Ebrohimi. The meeting, which drew attendees from various walks of life, was a platform for discussions, decisions, and the inauguration of a new set of leaders for the Ebrohimi Community National Youth Executives.
Ebrohimi Community (an Itsekiri community), situated in the Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, holds a special place in history as the battleground for the Ebrohimi War of 1894. This conflict saw the British colonial powers facing off against Chief Nanna Olomu, a prominent figure in Nigeria. The echoes of this historic confrontation still resonate in the cultural fabric of Ebrohimi Community.
At the heart of the recent general meeting was the inauguration of the new Ebrohimi Community National Youth Executives, a body crucial for the community’s development and progress. Mr. Anthony Ogharandukun assumed the role of President, and Mr. Ayefe Nunu was sworn in as the Public Relations Officer. Both individuals bring a wealth of experience and dedication to their respective roles.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by a sense of unity and optimism as the new executives took their oaths of office, pledging to serve the Ebrohimi Community with integrity and commitment. The newly appointed President, Mr. Anthony Ogharandukun, expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and assured the community of his team’s dedication to the betterment of Ebrohimi.
