The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr Michael Tidi, received an entourage of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs led by the Delta State Coordinator, Potts Johnson Reginald at the council’s secretariat on Monday. The State Coordinator while addressing the Chairman advised that the visit was to facilitate the handover of medical equipment donated by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs to the Ogiame Ikenwoli Primary Health Center, Ijala-Ikenren, Warri, Delta State. The handover ceremony would be taking place on the 8th of December, 2021.

Dr Tidi commended the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs for the donation of the medical equipment and stressed that the donation would ease the job of the team running the Ogiame Ikonwoli Primary Health Center. He also assured members of the Ministry of the Council’s willingness to assist the Ministry in making sure that the handing over ceremony was successful. He however appealed to the communities to take ownership of the equipment and ensure that they are safe from vandals. “We will appeal to our children to protect the facilities. I still want to push the responsibility of taking care of the equipment to you, the community.

Speaking further, Dr Tidi state; “I also want to appeal to our political leaders in high places to take action and caution the youths on the need to stop vandalizing our national assets. These positions are not titles but responsibilities. We must keep talking to our people and discourage the acts of vandalism in our communities.”

Earlier, Potts Johnson Reginald, State Coordinator, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, appealed to the Warri South chairman to assist them in installing the facilities when they arrive.

It would be recalled that the Ogiame Ikenwoli Primary Health Center was facilitated by Hon Daniel Reyenieju while he was the House of Representatives Member representing Warri Federal Constituency.
